Moonlight Swimathon

Swim the length of the River Derwent - 72 miles, 4608 lengths.  The idea came from David Walliams' River Thames swim, but Ryedale Special Families thought they would stick to an indoor pool!

 

All money raised from the sponsored swim will help support Ryedale Special Families, an independant, local charity for 'the relief of children and young adults with disabilities and special needs, their familes and carers',  Their work includes:

 

*  Support groups

*  Respite care

*  Advice

*  Family social events

*  Home visits

*  Specialist holiday sessions

 

15 minute slots will be pre-sold for £10, which hopefully swimmers will raise through sponsorship.  People can book as many 15 minute slots as they wish to and can swim individually or in relay as part of a small group or pair.  All ages and abilities are welcome.  Under 16's should be accompanied by an adult.

 

Swimmers will receive a medal and a voucher for a free swim.
